What inspired you to pursue a career in the automation industry, and how did you get started in this field?
Simon first got involved with ITS when the business was in the planning stages (in 1991) as a personal friend of the founders. This friendship and professional relationship has endured to this day.
What do you enjoy most about working at ITS, and what sets you apart from other automation businesses in the industry?
During an extended career with ITS it has been great to see the company develop and thrive through both good and challenging times in the economy. It has always been the case that the leaders of ITS have been focused on staff and customers at least as much as on financial performance. This has endured through the recent change of ownership and makes ITS a vibrant and interesting place to work.
What do you like to do outside of work to unwind and recharge, and how do you balance your personal and professional life?
We have recently moved to the countryside so most of my free time is now spent enjoying the local scenery whilst walking our dogs. I am a long suffering football fan and still follow Middlesbrough FC even after 50+ years of (almost permanent) disappointment.
