After completing my MSc in International Marketing Management at the University of Leeds and developed a strong interest in how businesses grow across different markets. Through my internship, I had the chance to support international promotions for a business, travelling to trade fairs in places like Italy, London, and Dublin. That experience gave me first-hand insight into what it takes to grow a business globally — and led me to pursue a career in Business Development. I’ve now been with ITS as a Sales Development Representative for over a year, helping connect clients with smart, tailored automation solutions
Q&A's
What inspired you to pursue a career in the automation industry, and how did you get started in this field?
My first exposure to the challenges of manufacturing came from working at my family’s start-up business during the summer holidays. I saw firsthand the stress involved in trying to hit production targets just to stay profitable — every week was a battle to get enough product out the door. That experience really stuck with me and sparked an interest in how things could be made more efficient. As I got older, I became fascinated by the rise of automation — from robotics on production lines to everyday examples like self-checkouts and digital ticketing. It was clear that automation wasn’t just a trend — it was a way to reduce pressure on people, improve consistency, and help businesses scale. That realisation motivated me to get involved in an industry where I could help companies solve the same challenges, I saw my own family face.
What do you enjoy most about working at ITS, and what sets you apart from other automation businesses in the industry?
Since joining ITS, the biggest standout has been the people. Everyone’s been welcoming, supportive, and generous with their time and experience — which has made a real difference as someone early in their career. The variety of industries we work in and the challenges we solve means no two days are the same. What sets ITS apart is our tailored approach — we don’t push a single solution but instead focus on what truly benefits the client.
What do you like to do outside of work to unwind and recharge, and how do you balance your personal and professional life?
Outside of work, I’m a big sports fan. I play rugby union for my local team and stay active by regularly going to the gym — which helps keep both my mind and body sharp. I also follow football and enjoy getting to matches when I can. Sports give me a great outlet and help me stay balanced. I try to keep a clear routine so that I’m able to give full focus during the workweek and fully unwind when it’s time to switch off.
